Books are magic.
Especially Harry Potter.
Hi all -- Nat here. To the surprise of absolutely no-one, I've decided it's the perfect time to re-read the complete Harry Potter Series (to my credit it has been three years since my last run-through). During a time of change, upheaval, and uncertainty, reading this quintessential series feels like wrapping up in a cozy blanket in front of a fire. I've finished up the first, second & third books, and happily feel like I've met up with some old friends. For anyone who hasn't read the series in a while (or ever) I highly recommend it, especially in the winter months.
I've always loved reading several books at once, and now is no exception. In addition to Harry Potter, below is what is currently on my list.
Regretting You by Colleen Hoover
This is my first book by Colleen Hoover, and I am already a fan! This fiction tale deals with grief, betrayal, family loyalty, and growth. One of my favorite things about this story is that it is told by both the mother and daughter protagonists, and I was able to relate to both.
Becoming by Michelle Obama
It may be the current political climate, but damn, am I missing some Obama wisdom. This book has been insightful, funny, heartbreaking, and more -- and I'm only part way through. What I love most is how candid the narritive feels, and the compelling glimpses into the reality of their life. I'd highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already!
