Welcome to In Search of Wonder.  Our names are Justin and Maria.  We are a young married couple in search of inspiration, wonder, and joy in this vast beautiful planet.  Like many before us, we have become captivated by the sights, sounds, and experiences in the world and we believe that true happiness is not obtained by accumulating possessions, but by living a life of passion, adventure, and love; a life rich in experiences.

Inspiration comes in many forms and from often unexpected sources.  I cannot say with exact clarity when the roots of this adventurous calling began, but like a lion in the Serengeti, it has stalked me for as long as I can remember.  There is no escaping it. As is so often the case, it was not a lightning bolt of clarity that made us realize we HAD to do this, but many small reminders throughout the course of our lives.  It was a college professors words resonating in my ears years after I had graduated.  It was a friend’s encouragement and proof that it could be done.  It was a deep, unquenchable belief that there is more to this world than what can be found in an 8’x8’ cubicle.  It was one too many nights staring out of an office window at 3am wondering why I am here and what it all means.  It was a knowledge that I was placed on this earth to do more than this.

Over the past five years, we have traveled to some amazing locations.  Yet, each time we returned home after our two weeks, we felt heartbroken, like watching a great love get on an airplane and disappear into the morning sky.  It left us yearning for more.  We fought for our love then, and let nothing keep us apart.  Now we must do the same for our shared second love, exploring this magic, wondrous, and often perplexing world together; searching to understand it.

So, it is with courageous, palpating hearts that we cast aside the comforts of home, the safety of family, and the security of our jobs and step foot into the great unknown.  We do not know what awaits us, only that the only way to find what we are searching for is to go out there and find it. It may be hidden deep inside an abandoned stupa in Burma.  It may be lurking in the tall grass in Etosha National Park.  Or perhaps it is deep underwater with the turtles and clown fish in the Galapagos Islands.  Wherever it may be, I am certain we will find it.

Our goal for this site is to inspire you, the reader, to defy convention, toss off the shackles of expectations, and be courageous enough to create a path based not upon logic, but upon instinct, inspiration, and the search for joy.  Do not settle for a life of possessions and routines, but opt for a life of experiences that many years from now will leave your grandchildren speechless and inspired.  We were inspired by close friends of ours, and we are determined to pass that inspiration to the next generation of world travelers that will come after us.  If there is anything we can do to help you achieve your goals, do not hesitate to ask.

I firmly believe that no person can travel the world and come home the same.  It is a life altering event that forms stronger, happier, more inspired individuals.  I want that for each and every one of you.  I may not know you (yet), but we have something that connects us deeply already.  You came here to this site searching for something.  We are all in search of something.  I am searching for that indescribable something that in an instant can transform a grown person into a giggling four year old child.  I am searching for the wonders that occupy this world that defy all logic.  I am searching for the divine and a deeper understanding of the universe and what I was put on this earth to do.  What are you searching for?
